The Mary Kay Ash Foundation℠, a decades-long leader and advocate for finding cures for cancers affecting women, and UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the nation’s premier academic medical centers, in Dallas, Texas, are celebrating five years of collaborative success on the International Postdoctoral Scholars in Cancer Research Fellowship program. Hosted at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center, the fellowship is a two-year postdoctoral program sponsored by the Mary Kay Ash Foundation.

The Mary Kay Ash Foundation℠, a philanthropic leader with a mission to end domestic violence, continued its sponsorship of the 18th annual Conference on Crimes Against Women (CCAW) which took place in Dallas, Texas from May 22-25. The annual convening is the largest of its kind – attracting more than 25,000 domestic and global attendees since inception - and the only national conference that addresses crimes against women from a multi-disciplinary, multi-sectoral collaborative approach. Serving as a national clearinghouse for training on the identification, investigation, and prosecution of all types of violent crimes against women, it encourages a coordinated community response from cross-sectoral frontline responders.

In the United States, one in four women will experience domestic violence during their lifetime. That’s one too many, according to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation℠. The Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $100,000 to four North Texas domestic violence shelters: Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support, The Family Place, Denton County Friends of the Family, and Hope’s Door New Beginning Center.

Taking place from May 23–26 in Dallas, CCAW is the only national conference that addresses crimes against women with a multi-disciplinary focus that encourages a coordinated community response.
