WYCKOFF, N.J. - Jackie Ott Jaakola, President and Chief Executive Officer of EveryCat Health Foundation—a non-profit dedicated to advancing feline health by supporting a variety of research and education initiatives—has announced her election to the board of directors of Animal Grantmakers, philanthropy’s leading affinity group for funders dedicated to the well-being of animals.
Since 1999, Animal Grantmakers has been supporting a diverse roster of funders that contribute to making the world safer and kinder for animals, including public charities, foundations, and corporate giving programs. The group helps funders such as EveryCat Health Foundation expand their philanthropic reach through activities that allow them to collaborate with each other, sharpen their grantmaking practices, and become more diverse.
In her role on the Animal Grantmakers' board, Ott Jaakola will contribute to the organization’s governance and strategic direction while supporting its mission and program initiatives. Additionally, Ann Fries, Documents Specialist at EveryCat Health Foundation, will provide support for membership-related efforts as requested.
“I am honored to be part of such an important organization that is contributing to the health and well-being of animals around the world,” she said. “Animal Grantmakers helps facilitate information sharing and collaboration between foundations like EveryCat. I look forward to doing my part to help organizations work together to amplify their impact in animal welfare.”
“We are grateful to have someone as talented and enthusiastic as Jackie join the Animal Grantmakers' board,” said Bethany Heins, board president. “Her experience and expertise in the field of philanthropy, coupled with her strong leadership skills and grasp of complex animal protection issues, will be invaluable in moving the organization forward.”
