Redmond, Washington - November 3rd, 2025 - Abossein Engineering, LLC proudly announces its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of engineering leadership, innovation, and trusted partnerships across the Pacific Northwest.
Founded in 1985 on the principles of integrity, innovation, and service, Abossein Engineering began with a clear vision: Do the right thing — for the client, the team, and the future.
Over the past forty years, the firm has completed nearly 4,000 successful projects, including:
• Office and corporate spaces
• Healthcare and institutional facilities
• Laboratories
• Industrial and warehouse developments
• Restaurants and commercial kitchens
• Senior living and hospitality communities
• Educational and civic buildings
• Military and government facilities
• Multi-family housing and mixed-use developments.
The firm’s design capabilities span Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Sprinkler, Fire Alarm, Smoke Control/Pressurization, Medical Gas, Energy Modeling, LEED and High-Efficiency Building Systems, and numerous specialty and innovative engineering applications.
“Through every project, our focus has remained the same: deliver solutions that are safe, efficient, code-compliant, and tailored to the unique needs of those we serve,” said Alex Abossein, PE Founder and Principal.
With offices in Redmond (headquarters), Mukilteo, and Sumner, Abossein Engineering has built longstanding relationships with owners, developers, architects, contractors, Colleagues, jurisdictions, manufacturer representatives, and community partners throughout the region.
A Legacy Rooted in People
At the heart of this milestone are:
- The firm’s team members, past and present, whose dedication and expertise define its quality of service.
 - The clients and partners who have trusted the firm to help bring lasting and meaningful projects to life.
 - The mentors and colleagues whose leadership helped shape the professional and cultural foundation of the firm.

In particular, we honor those who are no longer with us, whose influence remains deeply felt in our work and values today. The firm honors the mentorship of Dale Aungst and Charlie Fullerton, whose guidance in the early years of founder Alex Abossein’s career helped shape his professional direction.
Their support led to his role as Project Manager for the Mechanical and Fire Protection design of the 76-story Columbia Center from 1983 through its completion in 1985 — a formative achievement that directly preceded the founding of Abossein Engineering.
The firm also remembers with deep appreciation architect colleagues and dear friends Chris Simons, Paul Brenna, John Strobel, and Greg Allwine, whose confidence, collaboration, encouragement, and trust helped shape the firm’s trajectory and spirit of practice.
“This milestone is not only a reflection of what we have built — it is a reflection of the community that has grown with us,” said Abossein. “Engineering is more than drawings and systems. It is service. It is trust. It is responsibility.”
Looking Ahead
As the industry continues to evolve, Abossein Engineering remains committed to advancing design practices, sustainable system integration, and engineering solutions that make a lasting difference.
“Our industry is evolving — and we are evolving with it,” Abossein added. “We look forward to the next 40 years of building, improving, and inspiring.”
